What is Diabetes
Diabetes is a disorder in which blood sugar level of your body is high. Usually, sugar you take gets digested and as a result is broken down into glucose. A hormone, Insulin, helps to move the glucose into the cells. Insulin is produced by the pancreas. Depending on the level of glucose the pancreas maintains the amount of insulin required by your body. But in case you have diabetes, the process is not carried out properly, as result increasing the level of blood sugar in your body. This disorder affects the technique of the body using the food you intake for energy.

Types of Diabetes
Type 1 Diabetes: In this type of diabetes the pancreas are not able to produce insulin. As a result increasing the blood sugar level in your body.

Type 2 Diabetes: In this type of diabetes, enough insulin is produced by the pancreas, but the same is not utilized effectively.

In both types of the diabetes, glucose is not able to move in to the cells thus resulting in high blood sugar level. If this keeps on increasing, it can result in to serious complication.

Causes of Diabetes

The causes of Diabetes for Type 1 and Type 2 are different.

Causes of Type 1 Diabetes may be due to:

  •     Genetic disorder
  •     Poor diet
  •     Some virus infection
  •     Abnormal secretion of hormones in the body

Causes of Type 2 Diabetes are:

  •     Family history of Diabetes
  •     High fat diet
  •     Lack of exercise
  •     Stress
  •     High Cholesterol level
  •     People with Overweight and high blood pressure are more prone to this type of diabetes

Treatment of Diabetes
In order to avoid from complications of diabetes, one should get the treatment of diabetes done properly. Some of the patients of the diabetes can maintain the correct level of blood sugar in the body by following proper life style. This includes having proper diet and exercise as prescribed by the physician. On the other hand few might have to take insulin and medicines as prescribed by the physician.
